CUK hires channel sales manager to target MI retail market

Distributor CUK Audio has completed the appointment of Steve Barton to the newly created role of retail channel sales manager.

The initiative will see CUK Audio strengthen and focus its impact on the MI/retail market in the UK, and is part of a larger restructuring of the company’s sales operation into vertical markets in order to better service customer needs.

Barton’s primary focus in the short term is to support the dB Technologies brand and drive growth in the UK and Ireland. Other brands with products that fall into his remit include MIPRO (the distributor), Furman and Powersoft.

“Having spent eight years working for a large MI manufacturer, I am relishing the challenge of building a quality PA brand such as dB Technologies in the UK and Ireland as well as focusing on a selection of the other retail-friendly brands that CUK Audio offers,” said Barton.

“Through my contacts in the MI industry and involvement in the wider music scene, I intend to increase public awareness of our products and, in conjunction with our retail network, I’ll be running various social media campaigns and promotions to ensure that our brands are at the forefront of peoples’ news feeds – exciting times indeed!”

CUK Audio’s managing director Stuart Thomson added: “Steve’s pedigree is impeccable. He brings several years of retail account management and b2b sales experience as well as being a keen musician with an active interest in music technology and live sound.

“He’ll be supporting the retail network with plenty of dynamic displays and relevant store profiles backed up with training, incentives and online material including vigorous social media campaigns. As he says, exciting times indeed, and I am sure that he will prove himself to be a great asset to the team.”
