Jungle Studios recruits new senior sound designer

Jungle Studios has taken on Ben Leeves as its new senior sound designer.

Leeves, who has over 20 years’ experience, joins the Soho-based audio post production facility from Grand Central Recording Studios.

Alongside his audio work, Leeves will be tasked with expanding Jungle’s post production service into new areas and developing client relationships, as well as assisting with staff training and technical solutions.

Leeves began his career as a maintenance engineer at Saunders and Gordon in 1989 but quickly moved into sound designing, where his passion lay. He spent over a decade there before moving to Triangle as head of sound, and was most recently a senior sound designer at GCRS.

Leeves has worked in a variety of areas including TV, cinema and radio advertising; along with audio books and feature films. He has worked with many high-profile directors and has crafted the sound on award-winning spots including: T-Mobiles’ ‘Welcome Back’ and The Imperial War Museum’s ‘Flight of the Stories’. Other notable projects include the Lego Batman promo for Sky; various Meerkat adverts for Compare The Market and Warburton’s ‘The Giant Crumpet Show’ featuring The Muppets.

Managing director at Jungle Studios, Graham Ebbs, said: “Jungle is continuously looking at ways to grow and expand the business. Ben’s experience and knowledge across a range of disciplines makes him the perfect choice to lead a drive into new areas. He is also a fantastic sound designer and will be a great asset to the team.”

Commenting on his appointment, Leeves added: “Jungle is an exciting company with state of the art facilities and an enviable client list. I look forward to working with the team to build on this and expand into new areas.”

Jungle has recently provided sound design for a wide range of brands including Aldi, Argos, BBC, British Gas, Lexus, NatWest, RNLI, Sainsbury’s and Vodafone.
