Malaysian post house installs DFC Gemini

Imagica SEA, a post production company based in Malaysia, has completed the installation of an AMS Neve DFC Gemini console.

From within Pinewood Malaysia studios in Johor Bahru, Imagica offers ‘comprehensive digital post production services’ such as 4K theatrical grading, a Dolby certified Atmos Stage, online and offline edit suites as well as digital cinema delivery (DCP), archiving, restoration and digital distribution management.

The latest DFC Gemini has gone into the main dubbing theatre, which has now completed its certification as a Dolby Atmos Premier mixing stage. Three more AMS Neve consoles – two Genesys Blacks in the ADR and foley suites and another DFC Gemini in the pre-mix theatre – have been installed in the last two years.

Ken Kusaka, marketing manager at Imagica, said the decision to go with the DFC has worked out well: “The operation is reliable, the automation is intuitive and the Native support and integration of Atmos mixing was important. We love the feel of the faders and logicators and we have had brilliant technical support from AMS Neve, which has made our lives incredibly easy," he commented.

“Our sound supervisor, Hiro, is familiar with the DFC console having mixed several projects at studios in Japan. He has also used a lot of classic AMS Neve outboard products”.

Established in Shinagawa, Tokyo in 1935, Imagica SEA opened its doors in March 2014 to offer its facilities to clients throughout South East Asia.
