NAMM 2014: Midas debuts M32 console in California

Midas has unveiled the M32 digital mixing console at the NAMM Show.

The M32 is a 40-input mixer with a wide range of connectivity options designed for audio professionals in need of advanced live sound and recording solutions.

It offers the same mic preamplifiers as the PRO Series consoles, along with “1-million lifecycle” Midas Pro Faders. The new console is 96 kHz ready, equipped with 192 kHz AD/DA converters, and offers Ultranet for “Acoustic Integration” with Turbosound’s iQ Series active loudspeakers or IEM systems.

With a "cutting-edge" design created by Bentley Motors’ industrial designer, M32 makes use of materials such as carbon fibre and aluminum.

Other features include an eight-slot stereo effects engine and an onboard 32×32 USB interface for real-time tracking, while multiple expansion cards such as ADAT, MADI and Dante, are also available for digital networking.

“We’ve been listening to our customer requests for a lightweight, durable and transportable Midas console,” said Al Walker, senior product manager. “We incorporated the same amazing mic preamps from the Midas PRO1 and PRO2, and gave the M32 professional-grade motorised faders for maximum durability and unparalled accuracy.

"The design is compact and eye-catching, thanks to the high-tech carbon-fibre and aluminium construction – which also makes the M32 extremely light and portable.”

Midas M32 has a suggested US MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) of $4,999.99, and is covered by Music Group’s Three-Year Warranty Program.
