New API, AEA gear to get first UK showing at Music Production Show

API’s The Box and the new N22 ribbon mic from AEA will both receive their UK debuts at the Music Production Show, which starts tomorrow.

The Box (pictured) is a small-format recording/mixing console designed for professional project studios. Optimised for digital duties, the mixer handles production functions not offered by most digital audio workstations, including mic pres, input signal processing, mix bus, cue sends, monitor control, without the redundant capacities of larger systems. Visitors can check out The Box on the Source Distribution stand.

The AEA N22 microphone is designed to "bridge the gap between vintage and modern, studio and live." It’s phantom-powered JFET electronics and German transistor come together to deliver high performance, especially in close-miked situations with acoustic guitars, pianos, vocals and drums. The AEA N22 can be found on the Affinity Audio booth throughout the show.

Other brands due to exhibit include Yamaha, Sennheiser, Universal Audio, Apogee, Focusrite, Steinberg, Genelec, KMR Audio and Sontronics.

Tickets for the event at Emirates Stadium in London are priced at £12 in advance, or £15 on the door, and are available from www.musicproductionshow.co.uk. Discounts for educational group bookings are also available.

The Music Production Show is sponsored by Music Tech and Sound On Sound magazines, Production Room, KMR Audio, gearslutz.com, JAMES and the Music Producers Guild.
