New monitor set-up for Dean Street Studios

KMR Audio has supplied a pair of ATC SCM50 monitors to London’s Dean Street Studios to replace the previous pair in Studio 1.

The SCM50 ASL active monitors’ SM75-150S soft dome mid-range driver was designed to reproduce music and speech with accuracy and transparency. Recent modifications, including an upgraded tweeter and enhanced port profile have led to further improvements in virtually all performance parameters.

Dean Street Studio manager Jasmin Lee said: “It is a pleasure to have the SCM50s back in Studio 1 here at Dean St. Studios. We see ATC as a top-end monitoring system and are happy to invest in their growing reputation.”

As one of ATC’s few preferred dealers for studio monitoring systems, KMR Audio keeps a stock of ATC demo units, and the new monitors were installed following requests by engineer Austen Jux-Chandler (pictured) that the ATCs removed from Studio 1 be replaced with a new pair.

Jux-Chandler felt that only ATCs would be right for the room. “The room has it’s own characteristics and although we have only had the new set of ATCs for about a month, they are already sounding pretty incredible," he revealed.
