Pinewood Post move for foley artist Pete Burgis

Double Emmy Award-winning foley artist Pete Burgis has joined Pinewood Post Production full time, after 10 years of working with Glen Gathard, Pinewood’s Head of Recording and Editorial, to build the Group’s in-house foley and editorial service.

Along with other freelance foley artists such as Andrea King, Sue Harding, Jack Stew and Jason Swanscott, Burgis and Gathard have already collaborated on several major UK franchises including the James Bond, Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter films.

“Pete’s a fantastic talent, who has helped us over the years bring sound effects to life for Film, TV, audiobooks and now video games. We’re absolutely thrilled he’s joining the team full time,” said Gathard.

Nigel Bennett, Group director digital content services, added: "Foley is a key audio service for us, and having Pete join the team, with his unique knowledge and expertise will be key in order for Pinewood to develop this area further and continue to expand.”

Burgis has worked on over 150 titles such as the Oscar-winning The King’s Speech, Gosford Park and Slumdog Millionaire, as well as others including Band of Brothers, Atonement, Children of Men, Quantum of Solace and Captain Phillips. He is also a triple Golden Reel Award winner.

His recent credits include upcoming films Pan, Legend and Everest, along with The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Cinderella, The Game, Exodus: Gods and Kings and Edge of Tomorrow.

As well as helping develop the next generation of foley artists through its in-house training programme, Pinewood is also continuing to invest in its editorial services, recently renovating Theatre One and Theatre Two at Shepperton Studios to complement UK sound teams in film, television, video games and audiobooks.

Pinewood’s foley film credits include Steve Jobs, Victor Frankenstein, Kill Your Friends, Everest, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Legend, Take Down, Far From the Madding Crowd and Ex Machina.
