Stone Roses head to Heaton Park for most prestigious gigs of 2012

After months of eager anticipation, indie legends The Stone Roses finally make their long-awaited live return to Manchester, with over 225,000 fans expected to converge upon Heaton Park from June 29th-July1st.

Fans of The Stone Roses were treated to an unexpected, low-key return to the live stage last month when the band announced an impromptu gig at Warrington Parr Hall; their first performance together for 16 years. However, it is the upcoming shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park that were the first gigs confirmed when the band announced their reunion last year.

The three shows are set to go down in history as three of the most prestigious live events in recent history, with tickets selling almost as soon as they were made available.

The first of the three Heaton Park shows takes place on Friday June 29th, with support coming from a certain Primal Scream, as well as The Wailers, The Vaccines and Kid British.

Support on Saturday 30th comes from Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye, The Wailers, Professor Green and Hollie Cook.

The run of gigs then concludes on Sunday July 1st, with support from Plan B, The Wailers, The Justice Tonight Band and Dirty North.
