TC Group, Genelec react to TEC Award nominations

Many of the world’s biggest pro audio manufacturers will soon find out whether their new products are worthy of a TEC Award for ‘Outstanding Technical Achievement.’

Among the big-name brands that have seen their latest creations nominated for one of the prestigious accolades are Tannoy, Lab.gruppen, Lake, TC Electronic – all part of TC Group – and Genelec.

Lab.gruppen’s IPD Series is a big contender in the Amplification Hardware/Studio & Sound Reinforcement category; the VLS Series from Tannoy is listed as a Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker Technology nominee; while Lake Controller V6.1 is one of six possible recipients of the Signal Processing Technology/Hardware award.

The Ditto Looper and TonePrint Editor from TC Electronic have also been nominated for TEC Awards.

“We are extremely happy that TC Group has been nominated in five categories at this year’s TEC Awards. Across brands and across market verticals, we consistently strive to provide the best possible hardware and software to our global customer base, and I for one am extremely proud of what we have achieved this year at Tannoy, Lab.gruppen, Lake and TC Electronic,” said TC Group CEO Anders Fauerskov.

Genelec’s new M Series active monitor systems, M040 and M030, have been nominated in the category of Studio Monitor Technology.

“We are truly humbled to be once again recognised for all the hard work we put into the design and performance of our M Series Speaker System,” commented Lars-Olof Janflod, Genelec’s marketing and PR director. “It is a huge honour to be nominated for the prestigious TEC Awards, and we thank everyone who supports Genelec and look forward to seeing you all at NAMM.”

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on January 24th at the Anaheim Hilton during the NAMM Show.

The TEC Awards were established in 1985 to recognise outstanding achievement in pro audio production and product innovation. Winners will be selected by online subscribers to Audio Pro International sister titles Mix, Pro Sound News and Pro Audio Review, as well as members of professional audio and sound production organisations through online voting carried out by an independent company. Voting begins in December.
