TC TouchMonitors and new Pro Tools package for Deluxe Digital

HHB Communications has provided Deluxe Digital Cinema EMEA with TC Electronic TouchMonitors and an upgraded Avid Pro Tools system.

Located in the heart of Soho, London, Deluxe Digital Cinema specialises in digital and data post production and distribution services for the feature film industry. Over 50 per cent of the world’s total theatrical release content is prepared by Deluxe Digital for distribution around the world.

The TC TouchMonitors are being used in Deluxe’s three main theatres and two mastering suites, which are used for the quality control of theatrical content for feature and trailer releases. The TouchMonitors are particularly useful in Deluxe’s 32-speaker Dolby Atmos theatre – one of only two of its kind in Europe.

Deluxe Digital’s head of technical services, Andy Scade, explained: “The TC TouchMonitors are very beneficial to our work because they provide level indication during multi-channel play back of additional channels that we do not audibly monitor. The meters are very intuitive and straightforward to use, yet still offer a comprehensive feature set, which is a rare combination. It is a phenomenal product that gives us so much more flexibility.”

Available in seven or nine-inch versions, TC TouchMonitors are fully-featured stereo and multi-channel loudness and true-peak level meters that provide a comprehensive set of I/O options, including balanced analogue I/O, AES/EBU digital, digital and analogue I/O. An SDI 3G version is also available. A variety of software options are also provided, including RTA Analyser, SSA Surround Analyser, Radar Display, RTW Premium PPM and Multichannel Routing Module.

HHB also helped Deluxe Digital upgrade to Pro Tools 10 with a Complete Production Tool Kit and HD Native System.

“It can be very difficult to upgrade systems and incorporate new technology into an existing infrastructure. HHB built and configured the new Pro Tools system at their facilities so they could be installed without interrupting our infrastructure and we were up and running in the same day. That is the service that we want and that is why we have been very happy with HHB,” Scade concluded.
