Adlib introduces new Speakers division, releases AA Install range

Adlib Audio has launched a new specialist division, Adlib Speakers, to manufacture and market its AA brand of loudspeakers hand-crafted in Liverpool.

The Merseyside firm has been manufacturing, installing and using the AA series for the last 15 years – mainly for its own installations and projects – and is now making the range available for re-sale worldwide.

“The company is diversifying as the nature of the industry is changing,” said Adlib director Mark Roberts. “We have enjoyed great success with these products over many years…and now is a good time to use our experience and knowledge of premium speaker construction and application to expand our horizons.”

The "affordable, high quality" AA line is suitable for various environments, from installations to high-end corporate events and industry shows, Adlib says.

AA speakers can be found in the Cavern Club in Liverpool – where The Beatles started their career – as well as the O2 Academies in Bristol, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham and Leicester, and numerous restaurants, houses of worship and educational establishments.

Bob Harrison of QMS Music has been tasked with setting up a global dealer network and marketing the range.

There are currently four models available for re-sale in the AA range, the AA61, AA81 and AA121 – featuring six, eight and 12-inch drivers respectively – along with a dedicated AA12HL 12-inch subwoofer.

The AA61 is a two-way passive system for high-output applications requiring a lightweight and compact enclosure. Equipped with a 6.5-inch neodymium low frequency driver and a one-inch exit high frequency compression driver, its integral phase plug is mounted on a 90° conical waveguide.

Also a two-way passive speaker, the AA81 features an eight-inch low frequency driver and a one-inch exit high frequency compression driver mounted on a 90° x 60° degree rotatable hyperbolic cosine horn flare.

The AA121 is a compact two-way passive trapezoidal 450-Watt enclosure, with a 12-inch low frequency transducer and one-inch exit compression driver mounted on a 90 x 40 degree exponential horn flare.

Designed specifically to complement the above models, the AA12HL600 compact 600-Watt sub makes an ideal portable system for performers, and provides great low end reinforcement for bars or restaurants.
