AES reveals keynote speakers for first UK Mastering Conference

Renowned UK mastering engineer Mandy Parnell, Whitemark’s David Bell, Crookwood’s Crispin Herrod-Taylor, Mike Cave (Loft Mastering) and Guenter Loibl (Rebeat HD Vinyl) have been confirmed as keynotes for the AES’s first dedicated UK Mastering Conference.

The event at Londons’ University of Westminster will welcome, academics, mastering engineers, producers, artists, industry professionals, technology developers and equipment manufacturers to come together and deliver papers, engineering briefs or workshops on a wide range of topics including: Mastering Technology & Practice, past, present and future, Innovation in Audio and Business Matters relating to mastering and post production.

After the conference, those presenting papers or eligible engineering briefs will be given the option to prepare their work for inclusion in the conference book to be considered for publication with Routledge. The AES Mastering Group are also welcoming proposals for innovative and interactive demonstrations appropriate to the conference scope.

“This will be the first opportunity for the community to come together and discuss matters about high quality audio and the future of delivery and consumption,” said JP Braddock of Formation Audio.

AES:UKMC’18 will take place from 22–23 September 2018 at the University of Westminster’s Regent Street campus in London.
