Audio Pro International to celebrate pro audio’s 50 Rising Stars

Audio Pro International is putting together a special print supplement highlighting the 50 Rising Stars of professional audio.

Due to be published this autumn – inserted into the September issues of Intent Media titles PSNEurope and Audio Media, and handed out at this year’s Pro Sound Awards – the new feature will offer a unique opportunity for up-and-coming audio professionals to promote themselves to the wider industry, and for the market to see what the future of pro audio will look like.

Anyone under the age of 30 currently working within the world of pro audio – engineers, producers, technicians, sound designers etc. – is eligible for inclusion, and the offer is open to people worldwide. Entries can either come from somebody wishing to nominate a colleague, apprentice or assistant, or from the potential Rising Stars themselves.

The Audio Pro International team decides who makes the Top 50 list, which will be arranged in alphabetical order. One of the final 50 – again picked by API – will then go on to receive the Rising Star prize at this year’s Pro Sound Awards.

"The regular Rising Stars focus on audioprointernational.com has turned into one of the most popular parts of the site, which shows that there is already huge interest in what the next generation of the industry are getting up to," Savage said. "After all, these young men and women are the future of pro audio, which is why we thought a print round-up of the ‘ones what to watch out for’ would greatly benefit the industry.

"Despite being in the early stages of their careers, many of these people already have the skills and know-how to match those with much more experience, but we don’t often hear about their work. It’s an area that’s arguably been overlooked, and we’re delighted to give them a chance to get their names out there."

So if you think you deserve to be included, or if you know someone who does, send a short ‘pitch’ to API editor Adam Savage (adam.savage@intentmedia.co.uk) explaining why you, or the person you have in mind, should make the list. Please provide as much information as possible on the person’s recent projects and past achievements, as this will increase their chances of being selected.
