Colby Ramsey returns to Audio Media International as Editor

Murray Stassen has stepped down as editor of Audio Media International, with former AMI and TVBEurope senior staff writer Colby Ramsey joining the brand as editor with immediate effect.

Stassen has joined another music industry publication as deputy editor.

Ramsey had previously worked as senior staff writer for Audio Media International under Stassen and former editor Adam Savage’s stewardship, initially joining the brand in November 2015. This was followed by a six month stint at Future sister title TVBEurope as senior staff writer. Ramsey completed an undergraduate degree in Multimedia Journalism in 2013.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Colby back to AMI as its acting editor. Colby’s passion for, and knowledge of, this market makes him a natural choice to lead AMI’s next chapter, and he’s been champing at the bit to get started and put his mark on the brand," said James McKeown, content director at AMI’s parent company, Future.

"Colby will oversee all of AMI’s content output and will work in tandem with Daniel Gumble, PSNEurope’s editor, who will take on an additional role as group editor of Future’s pro audio division. With Sahar Nazir also having recently joined PSNEurope as its new staff writer, both brands are in a strong position to continue to deliver the best independent coverage of the pro audio sector to our audiences."

Daniel Gumble, PSNEurope editor and group editor of Future’s pro audio division, said: "I can’t wait to start working with Colby on Audio Media International. The brand has firmly established itself as one of the pro audio market’s most essential publications, and Colby, with his prior experience and knowledge of the title, is perfectly placed as it new editor to lead it into the next era of its development."

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to working with the rest of the Future team to continue the fantastic work that my previous editors have done at Audio Media International over the last few years,” said Ramsey.

“With a well-established and dedicated team and with AMI so well-positioned to deliver great content, I’m confident that we will be able to build out the brand and maintain its position as the leading technology resource for the pro-audio end user."
