Former L-Acoustics man appointed Rat Sound general manager

Live sound industry veteran Paul Freudenberg has joined touring and installation specialist Rat Sound as general manager.

Freudenberg previously served as business development, Americas for L-Acoustics, and will now be responsible for managing all operations, and developing the touring, installation and retail sales side of the business, as well as the SoundTools brand.

"Over the past several years," said Rat Sound president, Dave Rat, "we have been working with Paul on many levels, including Rat Sound’s acquisition of the L-Acoustics K1 system. Paul’s knowledge, skill set and personality are perfectly matched with the projects and goals we are working towards and we are excited to have him on board.”

At L-Acoustics, Freudenberg was responsible for growing the firm’s presence within the Canadian, Mexican and South American markets through the deployment of the manufacturer’s Certified Provider Strategy. The K1 Touring program for the Americas, including the US, was also handled by Freudenberg. He spent more than ten years with L-Acoustics, which also included a stint as VP of sales and marketing.

Rat Sound has been a successful provider of professional sound reinforcement systems for more than three decades, and recently moved to a new facility located in Camarillo, California, which sees the company double its footprint.
