Installation announces Showcase event for installed AV market

API sister title Installation has launched a new concept in case study-led conferences for the installed AV market – Installation Showcase.

The event will make its debut at BAFTA in London on November 5th 2013.

Installation Showcase has been described as "a new kind of conference event for the AV industry." It is based around case study presentations in a particular market sector, which change every time the event takes place.

After a series of presentations from integrators, consultants or clients, audience members will get to have their say by voting for the project that they feel scores highest in terms of innovation, value for money and ‘wow factor’. The winning projects then receive awards.

The first Installation Showcase focuses on entertainment venues, such as stadia, arenas, theatres, auditoria, concert halls and cinemas. Examples of likely questions/topics include:

• How do you ensure that venues are suitably equipped for multi-purpose use?
• How are the audio and video networking decisions arrived at?
• How is futureproofing achieved?

In addition to the case studies, panel discussions will offer an opportunity for attendees to discuss and debate some of the wider issues affecting AV integration projects.

"Installation Showcase provides a great opportunity to explore the detail of integration projects in key sectors," said Paddy Baker, editor of Installation. "The voting format introduces a competitive element which provides an element of fun, but should also keep the presenters on their toes."

More details on Installation Showcase: Entertainment will be revealed in the coming weeks.
