ISE 2010: Genelec debuts new installation speakers

Genelec has revealed the 4020A and 4030A two-way active loudspeakers, designed for indoor commercial and professional installations, at ISE 2010.

“We’ve looked long and hard at the systems integration market to see where improvements in audio solutions could be made and with this series of products, we think we’ve really raised the bar in this market," commented Genelec’s Lars Olof-Janflod. "In performance terms alone, our already extremely successful 8000 Series stood apart. But now with the additional installer-friendly features I think we can look forward to a significant increase in demand with the 4000 Series. I’d urge anyone who wants to see where audio solutions for the integration market are heading to visit our booth in hall one.”

Both of the models in the new 4000 Series are fitted with Phoenix screw terminals in common with many other leading products in the audio visual sector. This new input method ensures an easy, secure connection, which delivers interference-free, professional quality sound. The audio performance and stress-free installation is further enhanced by the 4000 Series’ integrated amplifier. The in-built protection circuitry will also guarantee the reliability of the loudspeaker system in all operating conditions. Drivers are electronically protected from signal peaks and misuse of the system. This single assembly, combination chassis, makes for a compact and powerful amplified loudspeaker system.

The precise room response controls including calibrated bass tilt, treble tilt and bass roll-off, optimise the loudspeaker’s response to different acoustical environments and guarantee optimum sound whatever the interior design. Mounting is also simple: the integrated support points for Omnimount 20.5 series hardware on the enclosure back panel, and the 3/8” UNC threaded hole at the base of the enclosure and the wide variety of mounting options and accessories available from Genelec, provide versatility for all installation scenarios.
