Scottish loudspeaker firm, Tannoy has announced that it will launch the new DVS series of surface mount loudspeakers for the fixed installation market at the ISE show this week.

The new line is said to be suitable for a wide variety of discrete small and medium scale sound reinforcement applications.

It features an array of compact surface-mount loudspeakers with full bandwidth, optimsed for commercial, professional and residential applications “where environmental durability and high quality sound reproduction are demanded”.

There are three modles in the range – DVS 4, DVS 6 and DVS 8. Each is based around a point-source driver design comprising a four, six or eight-inch mid bass driver respectively, with a coaxially mounted 19mm (0.75-inch) high frequency section, all mounted within a stylish and lightweight injection moulded surface-mount enclosure manufactured from UV/weather resistant ABS material.

The new device is certified for water and dust ingress protection to IP64 standard and is currently pending UL Listed status (UL-1480 and UL-2043), making it capable of performing in interior areas such as swimming pools, saunas or work areas where unusually high levels of dust or moisture may be present, as well as most outdoor applications where extreme environmental conditions or harsh weather are not a specific concern.

Tannoy previously revealed that is will also release the VX Series and VXP Series on booth (5N58) at the ISE show.
