ISE 2013: Alcons to present a plethora of new product lines

ISE 2013 will see Alcons Audio show off a wide variety of products to visitors from the installation, cinema and sound reinforcement sectors.

The main focus of the firm’s stand will be the QR24 pro-ribbon line-source column – a modular, two-way column-array loudspeaker for acoustically-challenging rooms. It delivers high speech intelligibility in even the most reverberant rooms, without the necessity of DSP-based beam-steering.

The recently introduced BC332 compact cardioid sub will also be on display, which features 18" + 15" woofers in cardioid arrangement. The subwoofer cancels the sub frequencies on the rear of the cabinet, reducing the reverberant field and greatly improving the system’s accuracy.

Also debuting at ISE will be the Sentinel 4 and Sentinel 12 amplified loudspeaker controllers. Equipped with a 400MHz Analog Devices SHARC DSP processor with patent-pending Class D amplifier stages, the Sentinel units feature full matrix routing, 192kHz-capable AES/EBU inputs, ‘audiophile-grade’ amplifier stages, custom-designed sample-rate conversion, remote-selectable input sensitivity and all-digital signal control and processing.

Demonstrations of the company’s Q-series pro-ribbon column-array will take place in the 700-capacity Forum room. The Alcons team will show how the system fares in reverb-sensitive applications, making it an ideal way to experience Alcons’ pro-ribbon sound quality in far-from-ideal circumstances.

ISE 2013 will he held at Amsterdam’s RAI from January 29th to 31st, with Alcons exhibiting on stand 6-N134.
