Media Production Show celebrates increased visitor numbers for 2018

The Media Production Show (MPS) celebrated increased visitor numbers and positive feedback for the 2018 show, with exhibitors and visitors commenting positively on its “content, direction and diversity”.

The two-day show, held at London’s Olympia on June 12-13, saw an increase in visitors on both days (with 5,380 total visitor attendance), and also garnered positive feedback for its business-friendly duration and central location.

The show presented a host of new features this year, including a major focus on audio, a hands-on Live Production experience and a Digital Disrupters theatre for visitors to learn more about the possibilities and practicalities of the latest innovative technologies. A new Production Services Village also brought a wide range of international production service providers including location companies, studios and travel management companies.

Event director Charlotte Wheeler said: “Our events team lives and breathes the content creation industry throughout the year. We continually research technology trends and speak with industry leaders and creative professionals to ensure that the Media Production Show is informative and inspiring, to make it worthwhile for visitors and exhibitors to invest their time and money.

“We’re so pleased with the positive reception that the Media Production Show has enjoyed this year, with a huge increase in visitor numbers across the two days and encouraging feedback about the direction the show is taking. We’re already looking forward to MPS 2019!”

Visitors enjoyed a diverse range of expert speakers from leading organisations, including Netflix, ITV, World Productions, FOX, Channel 4, The National Trust, Technicolor, Channel 4, Immerse UK, Molinare and The Mill.

Brian Larter, Director, CueScript, said: “This was our first time at MPS, and we have already signed up to come back in 2019. What I like about this show is the diversity of attendees including our own customers, new leads and students who are the next generation of this industry. We have also met users who work on the programmes using our products, which has been fantastic to gain valuable feedback for our ongoing R&D.”

Thomas Gibson, Marcomms & Events marketing executive, added: “MPS is our platform to launch our 8k camcorder and 8k display and give people the opportunity to experience 8k image precision. There has been incredible energy and positivity towards Sharp exhibiting at MPS. We are looking to come back next year.”
