Meyer Sound audio upgrade for Denmark’s SOHO Lounge

The SOHO Lounge & Music Bar in Holbæk, Denmark has been equipped with a new Meyer Sound set-up.

Anchored by the self-powered UP-4XP 48V speakers, the system was supplied and installed by Copenhagen-based PRIME A/S.

Peter Petersen, PRIME A/S productions director, provided the bar’s main lounge space with 12 UP-4XP loudspeakers, four UPA-1P speakers, two 600-HP subs and three MM-10XP 48V subwoofers.

In the other areas, five MM-4XP self-powered loudspeakers were placed in the bathrooms and outdoor space, while a single UPM-1P loudspeaker takes care of monitor duties in the DJ booth. A Galileo loudspeaker management system with Galileo 616 processor is used to control and optimise the whole system.

The lounge stage features a Midas console and Shure mics, while DJ equipment includes a Pioneer DJM-900nexus digital mixer and a pair of Pioneer CDJ-2000 digital turntables.

“People come to enjoy a beer or a glass of wine in the afternoon, meaning that the audio system only needs to provide low-key reinforcement during daytime hours,” said the venue’s owner Lars Christensen. “At night, appearances by live bands and DJs call for something altogether more powerful. The system had to be truly multi-purpose, and I am delighted that the Meyer Sound equipment fits the bill perfectly.

“We get a lot of touring bands playing here. Several of them have already pointed out that our system is one of the best they have encountered in a venue of this kind in Denmark.”
