Molinare acquires Hackenbacker

Post production house Molinare has acquired audio facility Hackenbacker from e-Post Media Limited, owner of HALO Post Production.

Both companies are confident that their coming together under a group umbrella will strengthen their capacity and the services offered to clients.

Recent projects Molinare has provided picture and sound for include A.D. Beyond The Bible for NBC Universal, Man Up, Simon Pegg’s latest romantic comedy, with ITV’s 13-part adaptation of Beowulf also in the pipeline.

Hackenbacker’s portfolio includes Downton Abbey, the recent reboot series Thunderbirds Are Go, and The Double from director Richard Ayoade. Founder Nigel Heath will remain a director and will join the group management team alongside Julie Parmenter and Steve Milne of Molinare, and private equity firms Next Wave Partners and Saphir Capital.

The acquisition will have no impact on the day-to-day operation of either facility or sound department.

“We are delighted that Nigel and the Hackenbacker team will be joining the Molinare group,” stated Julie Parmenter, managing director at Molinare. “We have collaborated on many drama projects over the past three years, including The Musketeers and The 7.39, and with a combination of Molinare’s picture and sound talent, alongside Hackenbacker’s audio specialists, this new partnership will expand our client offering greatly.”

Heath commented: “I am excited about joining Molinare and working alongside their creative team. There have been many collaborations in the past and hopefully there will be more in the future. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank John and the team at HALO for facilitating this deal and for all their help and support over the past year.”
