Polar Audio completes complex installation at home of Leicester Tigers

Polar Audio teamed up with systems integrator Limit Audio to install audio solutions for a multi-zone application at rugby club Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road stadium.

Since the development of its new multi-million pound Caterpillar Stand, the sports ground offers the largest conferencing and hospitality suite of its kind in the UK’s East Midlands. The Premiership Suite (pictured) comprises the Legends, 1880 and Honours suites, and the three distinct spaces can be used separately or as one large area accommodating up to 1,000 people in a formal setting.

One of the requirements was that each space needed to simultaneously utilise its own dedicated audio system, as well as enabling the overall space to be serviced as required.

Central to the system is a Bi-amp Audiaflex Mainframe with Cobranet, controlling a network of radio microphones and speakers within each zone. Powered by seven MC² T2000 two-channel amplifiers, the system is controlled and configured by Bi-amp Da Vinci software. Bi-amp RED-1 remote control wall panels in each zone provide independent volume and source control, while AtteroTech Inbox X2 and Inbox M3 wall plates enable the use of external devices such as laptops, iPods and mixing consoles, as well as override microphones.

"Our working relationship with Polar Audio is an excellent one and the combination worked very effectively on this complex installation," said John Brown on Limit Audio.

Mark Bromfield of Polar Audio added: "As with all our installers, we worked very closely with Limit Audio to provide onsite technical assistance, supporting them from inception to commissioning. We were pleased with the way it was possible to smoothly overcome the issues associated with a multi-zone installation such as this – a Premiership result for a Premiership Suite you might say."
