Powersoft allies with Merging Select in Portugal

Powersoft has made a strategic change to its distribution arrangements in Portugal and several other Portuguese-speaking territories (known as the PALOP countries).

Lisbon-based Merging Select, which was founded in 2007 by Wladimiro Garrido and João Velhinho, will handle the Italian company’s portfolio of advanced amplification and process control devices in Portugal, as well as Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe and Equatorial Guinea.

Speaking of the new alliance Velhinho stated: “It’s a privilege to distribute Powersoft with its outstanding pedigree and high technology amplifiers, to the huge market of Portugal and the African Portuguese speaking countries.

“Powersoft’s innovations never cease to surprise us. Their amplification and DSP have developed immensely, making a major impact on sound systems through their quality, reliability and level of control."

The brand joins a distribution portfolio that already includes names such as Nexo, TW Audio, AuviTran, Steinberg and Yamaha.

The appointment has the full approval of Powersoft marketing and sales director Luca Giorgi and regional account manager (EMEA) Stefano Previtali.

“When we decided to restructure our business in Portugal we evaluated who was best placed to serve our interests in these varied territories — and Merging Select were the obvious candidates,” Previtali explained.

Velhinho remains confident that the amplifiers will quickly make their mark in both the rental staging and installation segments. “Powersoft’s amplifiers meet a wide range of demands, with installation nowadays becoming ever stronger,” he added.

A programme of dedicated seminars and roadshows has already been scheduled for early 2016. “Powersoft will support this to enable our clients to better take advantage of their powerful tools. Both companies agree on the importance that education plays.

“We think exactly the same way and I can feel a brilliant future coming on.”
