Sound design pathway offered on ACM’s new game development course

The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) has launched a new Game Development degree at its London campus, with an option to specialise in sound design.

Having facilitated courses including Music Production, Music Performance and Music Business since 1995, ACM will now offer students the option to study for a BA (Hons) in Game Development in conjunction with Falmouth University, with specialisms available in audio, art, design and programming.

“As innovators paving the way for creative industries education, we are ecstatic to be working alongside Falmouth University to be offering this exciting new course from our London campus,” said executive chairman Kainne Clements.

“The games industry is rapidly rising at the moment so we are looking forward to teaching the next generation of talent, and for them to work alongside our thriving student-body and alumni of music specialists.”

Established in Guildford over 20 years ago, ACM has since opened campuses in London and Birmingham.

Tanya Krzywinska, Professor of Digital Games and Director of The Games Academy at Falmouth University said: “Falmouth University’s Games Academy is delighted to be partnering with ACM to deliver more of the multi-disciplinary team-based game development content which we are known for. ACM have the facilities and expertise to help us to evolve and enrich our innovative games education model.”
