Yamaha releases updated IPad app

Yamaha has announced the release of a new version of its StageMix IPad application, v 2.0.

The StageMix app is said to provide greater control of Yamaha’s M7CL and LS9 digital mixing consoles. The first version of the StageMix app has been downloaded by 45,000 users since being introduced at PLASA 2010.

StageMix allows the user to wirelessly adjust settings such as head Amp gain control for each input channel and scene memory management, including Store, Recall, Scene Titles and Comments via an IPad with a WiFi connection.

New functions of version 2.0 include control of input channel faders, on/off, parametric EQs and channel cue; sends on Faders, mix master faders; mix bus on/off, parametric EQs and cue; Last Cue/Mix Cue Mode, Clear All Cues and graphic EQs. Mix parameters that can be viewed include input channel names and meters; mix/matrix bus names; mix bus meters and EQ input and output meters.

“StageMix has already proven to be extremely popular with end users,” says Nick Cook, European marketing director, Yamaha Commercial Audio. “The new functions in Version 2.0 add make remotely controlling an M7CL or LS9 now even easier and faster.”

Available from the end of July, StageMix 2.0 will continue to be free to download from Apple’s iTunes store for both the M7CL* and LS9.
