AKA supplies technical desks to Broadcasting House

Independent UK systems integrator, dB Broadcast, has awarded AKA Design the contract to supply nearly 100 technical desks for the BBC’s new Broadcasting House in London.

The AKA technical furniture will be used in four state?of?the?art studio galleries, which will house a number of BBC television news channels that are due to be re?located to Broadcasting House.

AKA has been working closely with dB Broadcast to ensure the final product meets the exacting technical and layout requirements for this flagship facility. AKA’s experience gained through the development of its own product range over the past seven years has enabled them to supply desks that fulfil the BBC’s brief and meet the budget.

During the last three years, AKA has been increasingly involved in projects for broadcast operations, including MTV’s European HQ in the Netherlands and numerous African sports channels.

“Everyone who has been involved in this project at AKA has worked tirelessly on what was a technically challenging requirement and we are immensely proud to have won such a prestigious project,” said AKA’s operations director, Alistair Davies. I am confident this will demonstrate AKA as a clear contender for future Broadcast projects and look forward to seeing the first desks installed on site early in 2011.”
