Broadcast Networks strengthens technical team with ex-Sony staff

Systems integration specialist Broadcast Networks has added several key members of staff to its technical team.

Peter Timmons, Francis Lea, Ben Curtis, Nick Petty and Philip Walters have all joined the from from Sony Professional Solutions Europe, where they worked closely with Malcolm Robinson, Broadcast Networks’ newly appointed director of media and broadcast solutions.

"Our new recruits bring a wealth of knowledge to the company, specifically in the areas of solution design and project management," Robinson commented. "The sector-leading expertise we now have on board is phenomenal and we are very excited about the future. These new appointments allow us to grow the business by consolidating the experience already present at Broadcast Networks so that we are better able to deliver game-changing results to our customers."

Before moving to Sony, solutions architect Peter Timmons worked for Harris, Zandar Technologies and BAE Systems. He specialises in designing and developing next generation solutions for the broadcast industry.

Proposal bid manager Francis Lea will look after Outside Broadcast vehicle tenders and opportunities. He is now responsible for ensuring all proposals meet technical and commercial requirements and incorporating alternative options to improve customer choice.

Broadcast engineer Ben Curtis is highly experienced in designing and commissioning technical broadcast systems. During his time at Sony he was involved in a number of high profile projects, including relocating and commissioning a new headquarters for QVC and updating the broadcast facilities at the Parliament Building in The Hague.

Senior 3D design engineers Nick Petty and Philip Walters have also joined Broadcast Networks’ design office.
