BVE 2012: POLARaudio showcase major pro audio brands at Earls Court

Leading pro audio supplier, POLARaudio, showcases its vast range of exclusively distributed major brands for the broadcast industry at the 2012 Broadcast Video Expo event at Earls Court Two between February 14th and 16th.

The West Sussex company will be displaying both new and existing products int her range. This includes the XTA DS-8000 broadcast dedicated mic splitter and MC² Audio’s S Series Signature Reference Power Amplifiers.

That is not all, POLARaudio will also be demonstrating the Blue Sky 5.1 Monitor Speakers, Aviom Digital Snakes, ASL Digital Intercom and beyerdynamic headphones and headsets.

The new MC² Audio S Series studio amplifiers is a new release from the Honiton, Devon amplifier company. The S Series is designed for use in the most demanding studio monitoring environments. The entire range deploys MC² Audio’s complimentary AB bipolar output stages. This is combined with the unique current driven floating drive stage and analogue level controls for ease of use and minimal signal degradation.

BVE will also see the new XTA Electronics DS-8000 mic splitter from the Worcestershire-based company founded in 1992. The DS-8000 is an 8 input, 32 output self-contained audio distribution system with auto switching power-supply. The headline features are the 8 mic splitter, switch for stereo Outside Broadcast split and padless mic amp. The equally key features include 2 transformer and 2 electronic balanced outputs per channel, pin 1 earth lift on electronic balanced outputs, redundant power supply link between 2 units, headphone amp with solo channel solo listens, 48V phantom power and 5 segment LED metering, “listen” facility.

POLARaudio will also be showcasing the new high tech headsets for on-air news and sports commentaries as well as for control and monitoring applications from Germany-based headphones, headsets and mics expert, beyerdynamic.

The beyerdynamic DT 100 and beyerdynamic DT200 broadcast headset ranges will be on show. This includes the beyerdynamic DT 297headset.This headset includes a condenser microphone and is widely used for sports and news commentators. The DT 297 can also be supplied with optional limiters. Overall, the DT 297 offers excellent isolation from ambient noise a single detachable cable and pivoting gooseneck microphone. This mic can be swivelled to work on the left or right hand side depending on the user.

Also on show is the newest addition to beyerdynamics range of intercom, broadcast and TV headphones: the beyerdynamic DT 1350 headphones. The DT 1350 is from the DT series of headphones and headsets and is specifically designed for use by moderators and commentators. Being a closed supraaural headphone the DT 1350 is ideal for sound recording and outside broadcast applications.

The DT1350 includes a combination of highly efficient ambient noise reduction and an impressive maximum sound pressure level of 129 dB. This makes the DT 1350 an ideal compact over-ear headphone.

What is more, The DT 1350’s Tesla drivers are highly efficient and offer extremely low levels of distortion. This allows the DT 1350 to produce a perfectly balanced, analytical sound even at the highest volumes.

POLARaudio will also be showcasing the new range of Blue Sky 5.1 Monitoring speakers. These offer users an effective monitoring solution for Outside Broadcast Vehicles. Naturally, space is a premium in any mobile broadcast and recording environments. But users should not have to compromise on quality solely due to space limitations. This is where the Blue Sky 5.1 monitoring speaker tech comes into its own.

The 5.1 rig includes the Blue Sky Sat 6.5 MKII (for the left, centre and right) employs a 6.5 inch hemispherical drover and 1 inch ferrite tweeter. This is combined with the Blue Sky Sat 5 MKIII with 5.25 inch hemispherical woofer for surrounds. What is more, when combined with the Blue Sky Sub 8 MKII (19′ rack mountable) and the Blue Sky BMC MKIII base manager provides a professional surround listening environment in tight quarters. The Blue Sky “closed box design” ensures a “non-coloured” monitoring canvas, especially when it’s necessary to “box in” the satellite speakers.

POLARaudio will also be displaying the Aviom Digital Snakes snake systems. These are simple to design, install, set up and operate.

The Aviom Pro16 and Aviom Pro64 series offer a modular approach to building digital snakes for live or fixed applications. The ease with which Aviom systems can be reconfigured makes them flexible and cost-effective. Adding more I/O or multiple digital splits is as simple as plugging in a Cat-5 cable—there is no complicated addressing or programming is required. Overall, on-location broadcast users benefit from faster setup and tear down. In addition, the use of inexpensive Cat-5 cables means that they can be easily replaced or transported, used for long cable runs without loss of fidelity, and provides the ability to add splits at any time.

Furthermore, POLARaudio will be showcasing the new ASL Intercom Digital Intercom system. This new system from the Netherlands-based intercom specialists marks a breakthrough in providing efficient, reliable communications for demanding live production applications. Thanks to innovative use of the newest networking technologies, the ASL Digital Intercom system is an easy to use, flexible intercom system.

Finally, POLARaudio will also exhibit a range of studio and broadcast microphones, Headzone Pro XT 5.1 surround sound headphone system and the Opus 910 wireless radio microphone systems.
