BVE 2013: Audio-Technica earns plaudits for wildlife-themed booth

Audio-Technica‘s decision to put together a wildlife-themed booth at BVE 2013 paid off, as the firm bagged the Best Stand Award from the show’s organisers.

Designed to allow visitors a meaningful experience of the company’s broadcast microphones and headphones, the stand proved extremely popular throughout the event.

Hundreds of visitors flocked to the booth – adorned with vines, creepers and other foliage – to get hands-on with Audio-Technica’s Broadcast and Production shotgun mics, ATH-M50 monitor headphones and Allen & Heath’s XB-10 broadcast desk. Wildlife sounds were piped around the stand, with visitors able to pinpoint them with mics of varying sizes and designs.

Adding further reason to visit the stand, Audio-Technica also ran a competition each day for those able to identify each animal noise accurately, with winners getting the chance to enjoy ‘Tea With A Tiger’ at Hertfordshire’s Paradise Wildlife Park.

“We were thrilled with the response to the stand at BVE," said Tom Harrold, Audio-Technica assistant marketing manager pro audio. "We wanted to deliver a real experience for visitors and allow them to actually try the products on display – and we had the busiest BVE we’ve ever had as a result. To win the Best Stand Award was the icing on the cake for us.”

Visitors obviously appreciated the efforts made by Audio-Technica at the show. Martyn Harris, creative director at production company 7 Video summed up the thoughts of many, saying: “This was the first time I’ve come to an event like this and actually been able to try the mics properly. I think the stand was absolutely fantastic and a real credit to the company.”
