BVE 2013: Audio-Technica planning wildlife-themed booth

Audio-Technica is putting together an interactive wildlife-themed stand for BVE 2013, where visitors will be given the chance to get hands-on with its products and win prizes.

Various sound sources will be located around the firm’s booth, with microphones placed to allow visitors to pinpoint the sounds and experience the difference between a range of models in terms of response, acceptance angle and sound rejection.

Attendees could also win a big day out in a competition running throughout the show. By correctly identifying each of the animal sounds featured on the stand, visitors will be entered into a prize draw to win ‘Tea With A Tiger’.

Three people each day will win a guided tour of the tiger enclosures at the Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire, where they will take in views from the elevated catwalks and enjoy afternoon tea at the Treetop Café.

Several models from Audio-Technica’s Broadcast & Production range will be displayed, alongside the popular AT897 short shotgun – ideal for camcorder and HDSLR mounting – and the ATH-M50 professional monitoring headphones.

In addition to the above Audio-Technica products, the Allen & Heath XB-10 broadcast desk will also be on show at BVE 2013. The compact mixer is designed for small radio or internet broadcast studios, podcasting and content creation, and features high quality preamps, a CompACT compressor on each channel, start/cue outputs for CD deck control, a telephone communication channel and a variety of other radio-friendly tools.

Audio-Technica senior marketing manager Harvey Roberts said: “We’re excited about the plans to bring a ‘hands-on’ experience to our stand at BVE this year. We’re aware that it’s normally difficult for visitors to gain a meaningful understanding of how microphones sound and work at events of this kind. The new stand will give customers a unique chance to hear the difference between the models on display and experience the individual characteristics of their design and features.

"The chance to win the wildlife experience of taking tea with a tiger also brings an element of fun to the stand, and we’re looking forward to inviting visitors to take a walk on the wild side with us at the show.”
