Greg Gettens returns to Molinare

Film and broadcast post-production house Molinare has hired award-winning dubbing mixer Greg Gettens as its new head of broadcast factual sound.

Gettens joins from Clear Cut Pictures, where he spent the last seven years as their head of audio. He has been working in audio post for over 18 years, and began his career at Molinare as an audio assistant.

With a long list of credits across factual, drama and feature films, Gettens’ most recent project was BBC Two drama documentary The Last Warrior King. In 2013, he won the RTS Award for Best Sound in Drama for his work on BBC One’s historical epic drama documentary D Day: The Last Heroes, and has also mixed countless shows which have gone on to be shortlisted at The Grierson Awards and by BAFTA, including the political series Inside The Commons and Channel 4’s Charlie Hebdo – 3 Days That Shook Paris. He was also re-recording mixer for David Sington’s acclaimed documentary The Fear of 13.

Current head of factual sound, George Foulgham, will now concentrate on Molinare’s expanding feature documentary division, having helped with its growth in recent years.

Set to start his new role on 1 August, Gettens will head up a department of ‘young, exciting talent’ and will also be looking at the workflow aspect of Molinare’s factual business.

Julie Parmenter, Molinare’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Greg back to Molinare in what is set to be a very busy autumn period for us. Greg’s exemplary reputation and back catalogue of award-winning work demonstrate our intention to grow our factual portfolio even further.”

“I am very excited to be coming back home to Molinare, now as the head of a department which has such a great reputation. The work they produce is outstanding, so to be offered the opportunity to become part of that team is fantastic," added Gettens.

Foulgham also commented: “Greg is without doubt one of the best factual mixers in London, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to work alongside with. He will greatly enhance our factual audio offering.”
