IBC 2013: Audio-Technica brings interactive theme to Amsterdam

Audio-Technica has introduced an interactive element to its stand at IBC 2013 (Hall 8, D78).

The company went with a similar approach at the BVE and PLASA Focus: Leeds exhibitions earlier this year.

A dedicated section of the stand enables visitors to utilise a range of Audio-Technica’s Broadcast and Production shotgun microphones to pinpoint sports-related sounds positioned around the booth, allowing them to test out the pickup pattern of models such as the BP4071 – offering directivity comparable to microphones up to 50 per cent longer – and the BP4029 and BP4027 stereo shotguns. Microphones are monitored via Audio-Technica’s ATH-M50 headphones.

Also on show will be several of Audio-Technica’s handheld broadcast microphones, including the BP4001 (cardioid) and BP400 (omnidirectional) dynamic ‘reporter mics’; 3000b, 4000 and 5000 series professional wireless systems; the affordable new 2.4Ghz System 10 wireless solutions (pictured) and studio microphones from the 20 and 40 Series.

The manufacturer’s flagship vocal mic, the four-diaphragm AT5040, is another highlight of the company’s product offering at the show. Described at launch as "a premier-league vocal and instrument microphone," the AT5040 provides high levels of detail and nuance with low self-noise and a wide dynamic range.

Audio-Technica is also promising a number of special offers exclusively for IBC visitors.

The IBC 2013 exhibition is taking place at Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands from September 13th – 17th. Keep an eye on the Audio Pro International website for more updates from the event.
