IBC 2013: Yamaha to show off new Nuage system

The new Nuage audio post-production system is expected to be the main attraction on Yamaha’s IBC booth (Hall 8, D10) this year.

Yamaha gear will again be used to deliver many of the event’s seminars and presentations as well.

Featuring dedicated Yamaha control and interface hardware, along with Steinberg’s Nuendo 6 DAW software, Nuage is a purpose-built system designed to offer "unprecedented creativity, flexibility and audio quality, seamlessly uniting production processes that require a multitude of devices, connections and interfaces in traditional systems."

Other broadcast-related Yamaha equipment on display will include the CL Series mixing consoles, R-series i/o units and CL Editor software; DUGAN-MY16 auto mic mixing card; HS series studio monitors; StageMix Version 4 iPad app and the Nuendo Live multitrack recording software from Steinberg.

The manufacturer’s products will also help with the delivery of the IBC Conference itself. Terry Nelson and Sean O’ Dea are responsible for the event’s audio infrastructure, and have once again have opted for Yamaha equipment, having been impressed with the way the firm’s gear performed last year.

A key part of the IBC Conference is the Forum, which will rely on a Yamaha CL1 digital console for the high-profile seminars, include the Keynote speeches. In Room E102, a CL5 will be complemented by a Yamaha DXS series 5.1 playback system and DXR12s speakers; Room G102 will be home to another CL1 console, while the Big Screen Auditorium is set to use DXR8s as active stage monitors.

“Last year’s systems were a total success, we were so happy with the way the Yamaha equipment performed that there was no other choice in my mind,” said Nelson. “The hands-on support from the company’s staff was second-to-none and we look forward to working closely with Yamaha again this year.”

The IBC Conference takes place at Amsterdam RAI from September 12th to 17th 2013, with the exhibition running from September 13th to 17th.
