PL+S 2012: Renkus-Heinz to showcase new ICONYX ICR-II loudspeakers

Pro audio manufacturer, Renkus-Heinz, is looking forward to the upcoming ProLight + Sound event taking place in Frankfurt as they hope to build upon the excitement created by their new arrivals at ISE 2012 earlier in the year.

ISE 2012—which took place in Amsterdam in January—saw Renkus-Heinz reveal for the first time in Europe its new ICONYX ICR-II digitally steerable installation loudspeaker.

The ICONYX ICR-II series is available in 8, 16, 24 and 32 driver formats. According to Renkus-Heinz, this allows the series to provided sophisticated large-scale acoustic coverage to even the most imposing, acoustically challenging spaces such as cathedrals, airports, trains stations and more.

The ICONYX ICR-II series also includes RH’s RHAON (Renkus-Heinz Audio Operations Network) technology. This provides users with a full set of remote control and supervision functions. It also offers the ability to store up to ten pre-set configurations on the memory—all of this is achieved through a Cat5 cable.

Most notably, however, the ICONYX ICR-II series also includes a new innovative triple tweeter design. Overall, all this tech has left the Renkus-Heinz team very excited indeed.

“We now have a complete, equally spaced, array of high frequency devices extending the whole length of the array" explained Renkus-Heinz’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Rik Kirby. “This gives the new, fourth generation, column even better steering ability, reduced side lobes, and greater fidelity.”

On display at the Atlantic Audio booth at ProLight + Sound—taking place between March 21st and 24th—will be the 16 driver format IC16-R-II from the range.

In addition to the IC16-R-II, attendees will also be able to view the other exciting new additions to the Renkus-Heinz range. There will be the IC2 digitally steerable loudspeaker modules—the most powerful digitally beam steered loudspeaker system in the world. According to the company, the IC2 speakers provide digital beam steering for applications with higher output requirements while still maintaining the intelligibility that ICONYX products are known for.

Attendees will also be able to see the IC2 in action on the outdoor Concert Sound Arena stage during one of the four life daily demonstrations (every 2 hours from 11.15am).

The company will also be showcasing the Renkus-Heinz CF101LA Modular Point Source Array system. This offers installers a modular, scalable point source and provides a flexible solution for when a single cabinet is not loud enough but where vertical space or budget do not allow for a traditional line array.

The CF101LA is already being used in a number of European locations and are becoming increasingly popular amongst rental system providers. This is due to the fact that the CF101LA systems provides many of the benefits of the line array system—such as greater vertical directivity and output over a single cabinet—but achieving this with far fewer cabinets.

Renkus-Heinz products will be viewable at the Atlantic Audio booth at the ProLight + Sound in Hall 8.0 Stand F60. Renkus-Heinz will also be participating in the Atlantic Audio party on March 22nd.
