PL+S 2012: Roland to showcase additions to pro audio and visual range

Roland Systems Group are to showcase the new additions to their pro audio range at this year’s ProLight + Sound event taking place in Frankfurt between March 21st and 24th.

Amongst the audio tech on display at the Messe Frankfurt building will be the new Roland mixer family members from Roland’s V-Mixer live digital mixing console range as well as the 40-channel M-48 live personal mixer.

In addition, they will be showcasing the Digital Snake I/O units and the R-1000 48 Track Recorder/Players.

All of these products—as well as a vast array of other Roland Systems Group tech—includes their proprietary REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) technology. This allows users to configure their rig easily and, with REAC onboard, be able to do so via a low-latency, high-quality digital audio transfer.

REAC has the ability to transfer 40 channels of audio in each direction at 24-bit and up to 96kHz. What is more, all of this can be achieved over a single Cat5e/6 Ethernet cable or optical link avoiding signal quality loss, ground hums and other interference typically found with analog snakes.

Roland will also be displaying their VR-3 audio and video mixer. The VR-3 provides user with a compact—it weighs less than 2kg—yet feature packed mixer ideal for live production and streaming. The all-in-one VR-3 includes a fully integrated 4 channel audio mixer and video switcher. It also includes preview monitors and streaming-ready USB output all in a compact, single unit.

As a USB Video/Audio class device (for web streaming or recording with a PC/Mac), web streaming is effortless by simply connecting the VR-3 via the USB port to a computer which is running a live streaming service such as USTREAM.

You will be able to visit Roland at ProLight + Sound in Hall 8.0 at Stand G54.
