Adamson announces first Project Energia partner in Italy

Already boasting a vast itinerary of Adamson products, Termoli-based hire company Lombardi SLR has become Italy’s first Project Energia partner.

With an existing Adamson inventory of Y18s, Y10s, T21 Subs, SpekTrix Series, Metrix Series, M15 and M215 monitors, Lombardi has been worked with some of the biggest names in Italian touring, such as Gigi D’alessio, Anna Tatangelo, and provided sound production for such high profile events such as Umbria Jazz and Notte Della Taranta.

Lombardi’s inaugural show with the new Adamson E15 system was Umbria Jazz in Perugia. The system was provided for Reference Laboratory, who has been handled the festival’s sound for the past 25 years. Head of sound on the event’s main stage ‘Arena Santa Giuliana’ was Cristiano Grassini, who is also a FOH and systems engineer for Lombardi SLR.

When contemplating the sound system design, which has evolved over the years with several key figures involved, including Didier Dal Fitto of DV2, one of the key factors to consider is the wide range of artists and their specific audio requirements. Featuring the likes of Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Sonny Rollins, Chick Corea, John Scofield, Al Jarreau, and Erykah Badu, the event also hosts a reggae night, where optimum low-end is a prime requirement. With this in mind, the Adamson E15 with the T21 sub combo was specified to meet the event’s demands. Meanwhile, in order to ensure the first E15 event in Italy was a success, Adamson Europe’s director of operations Jochen Sommer flew in for the prep and to provide technical support for the festival’s duration.

Angelo Tordini of Reference Laboratory, who encouraged Lombardi SLR to join Project Energia commented: “The closing show of the festival featured a highly acclaimed show by Sting. We received great reviews about the sound from the festival organisers, as well as the local and visiting engineers.”

On becoming the latest Project Energia partner, Lombardi SLR owner Pasquale Lombardi added: “For many years Lombardi has had a trustworthy relationship with utmost professional respect towards Reference Laboratory. Originally, when Tordini suggested to test the Adamson Y-Axis I took a chance and just fell in love with it. Now, years later I decided to join the Energia network because I consider it an investment in a very innovative, and the future’s market-leading product.”

The Lombardi SLR E15s are currently on the Gigi D’Alessio World Tour supporting his new album Chiaro.
