dBTechnologies powers Rizzle Kicks and Joe McElderry

dBTechnologies recently powered White Rose shopping centre’s ‘Girls night in’ event, with pop stars Joe McElderry and Rizzle Kicks performing to 8,500 people.

The event was part of a sales initiative led by the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds, with exclusive discounts on offer for the ticket only event.

Powered by 6x dB Technologies DVA T4 and 3 x DVA S10 per side, this was the system’s first major event for Indivisual, which recently added the system to its rental inventory and also managed the event from start to finish.

Jonathan Bentham, Indivisual director, explained: “Whilst looking for a new flagship line array product for our rental stock, we were recommended to look at the dBTechnologies T4 system. The recommendation came from a fellow user who suggested it was ideal for our needs.

“After seeing and hearing the product we were instantly sold. It’s a superb system both in terms of sonic performance and build quality. Flexibility is key; we operate in a number of different venue styles for corporate and rock and roll events so we need to be able to scale the system up and down as needed.

“We needed a system that performed just as well as a premium system but wouldn’t take so long to get a return on and that’s exactly what we found.”

Also on hand was Yorkshire Audio’s Bob Collinson, who worked in collaboration with Indivisual. He added:

“I’ve got to admit I was initially quite nervous about using the system, especially when I saw it being loaded in and how physically small it was. I watched it being flown up and thought to myself there’s no way this is going to be enough, and then we fired it up; I was ready to criticise it and for it to sound like a low cost system but it just didn’t. It threw further than any box that size I’ve seen before and sounded every bit as good as if they’d spent 4 times the amount it costs; it’s certainly given us something to think about”
