dBTechnologies reflects on its 2011 highlights

Italian manufacturer dBTechnologies reflects on its highlights of 2011, and also offers an insight into what to expect in 2012.

In spite of the increasingly unhinged nature of the global economy, loudspeaker specialist dBTechnologies has still managed to enjoy a hugely successful year, citing a couple of key moments as its major highlights over the past 12 months.

One such moment came back in October, as the company’s DVA loudspeakers powered performances by X Factor winner Joe McElderry and rap duo Rizzle Kicks, as part of the Girls Night In event at the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds.

However, arguably the key moment of 2011 for dBTechnologies was the launch of the DVA T12 line array module at the Prolight + Sound trade show back in March. Featuring neodymium speakers and high-performance digital amps with a total of 1,400W output power, combined with a high-end DSP and optimum quality AD-DA converters, the DVA box is designed to deliver high-definition sonic images with an SPL output of 136dB for large sound reinforcement applications.

With regards to the company’s hopes and expectations for the next 12 months, international sales manager Harald von Falkenstein commented: “We are hoping that the international economy allows us to grow in the same dimensions and that we can continue the evolution from being a sole MI product manufacturer to a provider of audio products for all market segments, especially for the rental and installation business.

“We expect to be very successful with our DVA T12,” he continued, “as well as to achieve similar success with the DVA T4 unit, where we are approaching the 20.000 unit mark at the end of the year/beginning of 2012.”
