Glastonbury headliners Coldplay supplied with VeniceF console

Wigwam Acoustics has taken delivery of five new Midas VeniceF ‘digilogue’ consoles with FireWire interface for the festival season.

One of these consoles has been supplied to this weekend’s Glastonbury festival headliners Coldplay, providing audio splits for recording throughout their summer festival run. Additionally, two of the consoles are being supplied to the Hampton Court festival, with a further two going to the Isle of Wight festival. Following the VeniceF’s use on Bryan Adams’ solo performance at the Hampton Court festival, the artist’s FoH engineer, Jody Perpick commented: “I was very happy with the sound and features of this small console; it’s nice to know you don’t have to take out an XL4 to mix only a couple of inputs.”

Wigwam’s Chris Hill, added: “We bought the VeniceF’s as they offer great sonic quality, affordable prices and great packaging, as well as providing flexibility for our dry hire customers.”

At the close of the summer festival season, two VeniceFs will be stocked for Wigwam’s new company, Fac365, which will provide equipment, crew and facilities to the broadcast sector, and is based at Manchester’s Media City.
