PLASA 2011: Cadac launches CDC Eight

Cadac has unveiled its brand new CDC Eight console at PLASA 2011.

Designed for high-end touring and fixed installation applications, the console possesses a ‘high agility’ user interface, accessed by two 24” 16:10 high definition LCD touchscreens. It also offers 128 input channels, which can be expanded to 256, and a standard 48 outputs. Two frame sizes offer 16 or 32 faders. Built upon the company’s latest generation proprietary DSP mix platform, processing power is delivered by eight 32/40-bit floating-point SHARC processors.

A wide dynamic range, low noise mic pre-amp, specially developed ultra-low distortion EQ filters and analogue emulating compressor algorithms, 24-bit / 96kHz Delta-Sigma AD/DA converters, and EQ algorithms, using proportional-Q techniques, combine to deliver a traditional Cadac signal chain.

Sales development manager Vincenzo Borrelli, said: “What really sets it apart, aside from the classic Cadac sound quality, is the user interface, which is truly of its time and totally intuitive to any audio engineer at almost any level.”

The CDC Eight joins the Cadac CDC Four in the company’s new digital console series. Launched earlier this year at Prolight + Sound, the CDC Four is a small format production console, designed to offer optimum performance and flexibility at a competitive price.

Cadac’s CDC Eight console is now available at an estimated price of £45,000.
