‘Sonic Highways’ coming to UK for second series?

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed the hit TV series Sonic Highways will return, with a UK setting seemingly a strong possibility.

The eight-part documentary, which aired last autumn on HBO and later BBC Four, saw Grohl and his fellow Foos record at eight different studios across the US for the making of their latest album, interviewing a number of big-name producers and musicians along the way.

And it seems the former Nirvana drummer is looking overseas for the next season, although he gave no guarantees.

In an interview with NME, Grohl said that it "might or might not be international… It might only be in England. It might be in England and other places.

"The great thing about the idea, the concept of the project, is that it can be anywhere because every city has some sort of musical history, but I don’t know. Of all places in the world England and the UK just seems like it would be shooting fish in a barrel. There’s just so fucking much here."

Grohl had previously stated that the original series would be a one-off, but it seems the opportunity to revive the concept was irresistible after all: "It’s kind of a magical luxury of my life that I’m able to go around and interview people and learn about the history of all these awesome places so I wouldn’t just give it up that’s for sure," he concluded.
