Steve Levine discusses Audio-Technica?s ribbon mics

Grammy Award-winning producer and chairman of The Music Producers Guild Steve Levine, is the latest figure to feature in the Audio-Technica’s video interview series.

Shot in Levine’s south west London studio, the video focuses on his use of Audio-Technica’s AT4080 and AT4081 ribbon microphones. Highlighting a couple of recent projects with singer/songwriter Natalie McCool and Daytona Lights, Levine explains where he prefers to use each of the microphones and how he partners them with various preamps for different tonal response.

Audio-Technica senior UK marketing manager Harvey Roberts, said: “Steve is one of the most respected producers in the UK and we’re delighted that he’s been so taken with the AT4080 and AT4081 ribbon mics. His genuine enthusiasm for the microphones and his in-depth knowledge of mic and studio techniques really comes across in the video, which is a great watch for anyone interested in music production.”

The AT4080 and AT4081 microphones that feature in the video are the first prize in the GAK Factor competition currently running in conjunction with MI retailer GAK. Budding singers are invited to upload their ‘audition’ videos to YouTube and post a link on GAK’s Facebook Wall at www.facebook.com/gakmusic before 30th November to be in with a chance of winning the pair of ribbon microphones.
