Todd-Soundelux earns two Oscar nods

Supervising Sound Editor Wylie Stateman and Re-recording Mixer Beau Borders are among the honourees for this year’s Academy Awards

Both were nominated for their work on “Lone Survivor,” a project which has received highly positive response from critics and audiences alike for its unique use of sound. Stateman received his nomination on the Best Sound Editing category, and Borders was nominated for Best Sound Mixing.

“Wylie and Beau are exceptional and unique artisst, whose passion and drive for excellence in sound is vividly apparent to anyone who has ever worked with them, and which is reflected in the notable collection of filmmakers who look to Wylie and Beau as key creative collaborator on their projects.”

This is Stateman’s seventh nomination. His previous nominations include Django Unchained (2013); Inglourious Basterds (2010); Wanted (2009); Memoirs of a Geisha (2006); Cliffhanger (1994); and Born on the Fourth of July (1990).

This is the first Academy Award nomination for Borders.

Other films nominated for Sound categories include All is Lost for Sound Editing, Inside Llewyn Davis for Sound Mixing and Captain Phillips, Gravity, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug for both.

The winners will be announced during the broadcast of the 86th Academy Awards held 2 March at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
