VIDEO: Mackie DL1608 with iPad control now shipping

Announced earlier this year, the Mackie DL1608 16-Channel digital live mixer with iPad control is now shipping across the globe.

In order to meet demand for the new product, the US brand has increased production capabilities and shipments are now leaving its manufacturing facility to customers around the world.

“We are extremely excited to get the DL1608 into the hands of musicians and engineers,” commented Ben Olswang, Mackie product manager. “We’ve been addressing customer interest with a series of video podcasts that go over all the cool features. Plus, the Master Fader Control App has been fully updated with great new features that weren’t available in the preview version.”

The Mackie DL1608 is designed to optimise live mixing by combining the power of a full-featured digital mixer with the mobility of an iPad. Featuring 16 boutique-quality Onyx mic preamps and the performance of 24-bit Cirrus Logic AD/DA converters, the DL1608 aims to deliver high quality sound, while wired to wireless iPad control allows users to mix from anywhere in the venue. Furthermore, the DL1608 supports up to ten iPad devices, allowing musicians to control their own monitor mix on stage.

The DL1608 has a UK list price of £1260 including VAT, while the Mackie Master Fader Control App is available for free from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.
