VIDEO: Skindred on the road with Audio-Technica

Audio-Technica has released part two of its recent interview series with UK ragga-metal band Skindred, with guitarist Mikey Demus discussing the brand’s AE2500 dual-element dynamic/condenser microphonesa and 3000 Series wireless units.

The new video instalment follows the recent Allen & Heath iLive mixer feature, which saw Skindred’s FOH engineer Ben Hammond talk viewers through his experiences with the digital mixing system.

Tasked with delivering the full force of Demus’s gutar rig, the AE2500 has certainly been put through it paces, while the recently installed 3000b guitar transmitter has allowed him to “run around and do back flips” while on tour, as he reveals in the video.

Demus commented: “The AE2500 gives a great, focussed sound with a really tight bottom end. It’s the first time we’ve used a mic on the guitar cabs and haven’t had to mash the sound on the desk. Our front of house guy just leaves it flat, which is pretty amazing – it just captures everything that’s coming out of the cab.”
