Ableton Live 11 launches with raft of new features

About Live 11 is now available worldwide, featuring an array of new features and tools for music makers.

Ableton Live 11 comes with a raft of new tools and features for live performance, comping, MPE and devices for experimentation.

The comping feature organises multiple passes of an audio or MIDI performance into individual takes, the best parts of which can be stitched together.

MPE support allows users to add bends, slides and pressure for each note in a chord, while Expression View enables users to edit the pitch, slide and pressure envelopes of each note.

Meanwhile, new devices in Ableton Live 11 include Hybrid Reverb, which combines convulsion and algorithmic reverbs to create any kind of environment; Spectral Resonator, which transforms sounds into and partials and feeds them into frequency-based delay for various echo and reverb effects; Inspired By Nature offers up six unusual instruments and effects, made in collaboration with Dillion Bastan; and PitchLoop89, which creates jittery glitch effects.
