AES Immersive Audio Academy

AES Immersive Audio Academy series continues this week

The AES Immersive Audio Academy programme is set to continue this week with a focus on emerging music production technologies and workflows in immersive and binaural audio.

Building on the success of the Audio Engineering Society’s first Immersive Audio Academy event in February 2021, the next chapter will take place on Thursday 17 June and will feature exclusive presentations by some of the leading innovators in the field.

The AES Immersive Audio Academy 2 will feature insights from top producers and researchers, including a mixing masterclass with immersive audio specialist Ronald Prent.

The lineup will also include a session named ‘Preserving the Artistic Intent in Immersive Music’ where panelists Wilfried Van Baelen, Frank Filipetti Darcy Proper, and Thomas Walravens will discuss their approach to immersive audio productions.

Expanding further on the capabilities of immersive audio, the panel discussion ‘Getting Higher Quality in Immersive Audio’ will include Andres Mayo, George Massenburg, Eric Schilling and Ceri Thomas addressing the issue of how to get high quality sound in 360-degree audio.

The session ‘Immersive in Classical Music’ will take a deep dive into one of the most popular genres for immersive audio in panel moderated by Darcy Proper with special guests Malgorzata Albinska-Frank, Kseniya Kawko and Ulrike Schwarz.

AES Immersive Audio Academy 2 will be streamed live on Zoom and AudioMovers on Thursday 17 June from 9am to 6pm ET/2pm to 11pm BST/3pm to 12am CEST.

Registration is open now and costs $49 for AES members and $99 for non-members.
