AIR Studios has announced has completed the acquisition of Alchemy Mastering. The new mastering operation will now be branded as Alchemy Mastering at AIR.

Co-founded by Barry Grint and Phil Kinrade, the high-end audio mastering outfit earned a significant reputation throughout its 22-year history. Commenting on the the move, Grint says “the acquisition made sense to us from the very start, not only because of AIR’s reputation but also due to the huge potential to expand with our new team. Having new mastering rooms with an owner who’s prepared to put in the investment is key.”  

Following the acquisition, AIR will continue its mastering operations while expanding its current facilities at its Lyndhurst location. Meanwhile, a part of the team led by Alchemy’s founder Barry Grint will remain at their current Hammersmith location, with an eventual move to the AIR headquarters planned.

The newly-branded Alchemy Mastering at AIR will specialise in all formats of analogue and digital mastering, supporting independent artists and major labels, mastering for TV soundtracks and Hollywood blockbusters. Services including Online Mastering, Direct to Vinyl Recording, and Half Speed Mastering.
