Audeze launch new Audeze CRBN electrostatic headphone at $4,500

Los Angeles headphone maker Audeze launched a new electrostatic headphone this week – the Audeze CRBN (Carbon) – which breaks with the traditional horizontal grille design of previous LCD models.

Originally developed as part of a design for MRI scan friendly headphones with no metal, the technology soon led to the creation of this consumer/studio model, compatible with a range of headphone amps. The list of recommended amps also includes 580 volt models and you can see the full list here. Auduze claim the process allowed them to create “one of the best sound transducers in any market”.

Priced at $4,500, the Audeze CRBN can be purchased directly from the Audeze online store.
